What are Core Updates?
Core Updates are essentially designed to enhance the search experience for users by re-evaluating how relevant and useful a website’s content is to the user.
The November Core Update will be this years final core update.
What does it mean for your website?
Overall, Google notes that most websites won’t really notice any significant shift in rankings or indexing as a direct correlation to Core Updates. The key word there is: MOST.
SOME sites may experience noticeable shifts and minor setbacks. That being said, it’s always recommended by Google that during these updates – waiting until the update is completed is the best course of action before panicking and reacting instantly. Historically, certain shifts in positioning during a Core Algorithm are usually rectified shortly after the update is completed – with the correct strategy in place.
Certain sites that may be affected could take time to recover (potentially weeks or even months). Typically, these rollouts take around 2 weeks to finalise.
We will closely assess the impact this latest Core Update can have on Search Results over the coming weeks.
